LG design the future: Honorable mention (2009)

The next LG Phone with Feel technology will give its user the sensation of pressing a button or keypad letter. Feel technology mimics resistance. For instance pressing the letter “L” on the digital keypad, as the key protrudes from the screen, a simulated resistance will be placed upon the key as if you are pressing the letter “L” on a real keyboard. Protrusion depth from the screen is based upon the displacement map extracted from the color image. Graphics with color shades (hue mixed with black) will have low protrusion depth while color tints (hue mixed with white) will have higher.
